Spotted Dog Sporting Goods in Columbia had a used 455 in 22LR just before Christmas. Sights had been removed and an inexpensive scope added. They were asking $350 which I considered high. You might call them to see if it is still available. I bought a NEW 457 Scout elsewhere for $325. It is much improved over the 455. Has pillar bedding, a fully adjustable trigger, lower bolt lift, and push-forward-for-off safety. Really pleased.

If you can get a CZ 455 American at Spotted Dog for that price you should immediately seize the opportunity and buy it.

I respectfully disagree with Blackhawk regarding the overvalued part. I have two 457's (Lux in 17 hmr and American in 22 mag) and a 455 American in 22 LR. I also purchased a Tikka T1x in 22LR from Spotted Dog. The 455 American has a free floated barrel that shoots every bit as good as the 457's and the Tikka.
It's one of the best values in bolt action rimfire out there and there are plenty of online reviews that back that up.

I "think" the one at Spotted Dog was a 455 Training Rifle. It had the birch hogback stock and standard barrel. I considered it high because Sportsman's Warehouse has them NEW for $319. Other online retailers are listing as new for less than $350. Factored in to my thought process were the missing sights which would be around $100 to replace. The cheap scope would hold no value for me. If it had been an American or a Lux, might be a different story.

ps: I went back through some notes I had made. At the time I was looking at the used 455, Spotted Dog offered to order me a new 455 Trainer for $339, and a new 457 Trainer for $405. Plus tax of course.
