So I was digging around in my decades old selection of parts when I came across a few boxes of HK parts. Most were organized into caliber but I had a decent amount of loose parts.

Turns out those loose parts were form a HK 33, 5.56 roller gun

Barrel appears to be original and is still in the trunnion with a saw cut part of the receiver on the front. Only the HK lettering is left of the side of the magwell, so it was an original receiver at one point.

Barrel is 12.75" long and it does have some proof marks near the chamber end. A "NP" with the N and P joined, A stamped triagnle with a vertical line at the top, and a small Egyptian looking (think hieroglyphics) symbol over the NP.

This looks to be factor assembled, all of the paint looks like hk to me, but I have had issues finding info about a HK 33 variant with a 12.75" barrel. The HK 53 has a 8" or so barrel, but that is not long enough to be this. This uses a std length forearm, but does not have a bayo lug in the triple tree.

    Any ideas?

So I posted the above after about 1 hr of googling...

Then I found an off the wall mention of the HK 33K

I googled it and image searched till I found this:

    https://www.gatewoodsupplyco.com/HK33K-Barrel-and-Front-End_p_1780.html

Exact same thing I have, down to the saw cut location.

I have the rest of the gun parts, including a torch cut receiver, likely from another gun. And a flat, no idea who made the flat as it has no markings.

All HK parts, save the flat.

I wonder what it is worth?

Probably not much, especially with mags, all original internals, original barrel, flat, and collapsing stock. I’ll take it off you hands for $100 because we are friends.

Seriously. It is worth some kwan because the 5.56 roller guns are much more rare than 308 or 9mm. The 5.56 receiver flat also would be of some value I think. Again, because of scarcity.

Must agree, but have no way to accurately assess it.

I don’t know much about HK clones, but I know as far as the preban 90 series guns, the most imported were 91’s (7.62), then 93’s (5.56), and lastly 94’s (9mm). This kit built on a preban 93 by one of reputable HK gunsmiths would be really nice.

I bought a couple 91 kits in the 90’s and faintly remember your kit or something similar. Back then there were stamped and milled receivers for the 91 so I ended up with a paratrooper steel receiver rifle and a milled receiver that was rebarreled in the full stock. They’ve both been great rifles. I often wished I’d gotten something in 5.56 when all that was so easy to come by but had just put a .308 Galil together and just had .308 on the brain. Hope you can get something together with that.

    Thanks for the info guys.

I have a few regular 33 kits from a few years ago when apex had them. No original barrels, but I picked up a rcm 16.1 barrel and I think I have a apex barrel for the other. Also have a special weapons 33 receiver that I scored on gunbroker when Todd sold off his remaining stock.

The 33k parts were likely bought in a lot. And i may have had them for 10 plus years now. I was on the hunt for mp5 parts for a while and bought what I could find and afford. Thus I have a variety of hk roller gun parts. They just did not hold my interest long enough to get everything built.

As far as complete guns go, i have a sw5 carbine and vector p93 rifle. Pretty sure I have a 40cal special weapons kit as well... I will have to break it all out of storage and get back to building!

In HK language on center fire rifles the models that begin with a 3 are auto and the models with 9 are semi autos, typically anyway. Looks like you have a carbine or midlength model kit of the variants produced.

If you plan on getting this sucker built out you may want to give this gent a holler. He seems to get some good praise in the roller lock community. He can even do original markings for you.

He seems like a one stop shop for just about anything HK roller locked.Check out this thread on the conversions hes doing to the new SP5:

They’re not bad. I’d use RDTS. They’ve only been working on HK’s since 1981. That’s before most of you folks were born.

Check them out on Instagram. Their work is phenomenal.
