So I found this metal detection at my father in-laws property in woods. Was there a 2 piece charging handle?

According to some here, I’m not qualified to answer such questions, but understanding how the AR-15 operated, the front of the charging handle is crucial to operating as a charging handle. It acts like a hook and grabs the gas key.

The hook shown is for part an of Airsoft AEG rifle. It’s missing parts.

That makes since. It has some decent weight I wasn't expecting airport to have metal like this.

You’d be surprised. A buddy of mine has a Mk18 clone that weighs about 6-7 lbs and is full metal. Sounds like a something out of a sci-fi movie when you shoot it.

Interesting. Might be something to play with on days I cant make it to the range in my backyard.

    Yup airsoft
Some airsoft AEGs or GBBs are licensed and real weight. "Training" options exist for those who cant get to classes as often as they would like. I use mine in the backyard to drill when I don't have the time to attend class or hit the range.
My gen4 G19 w/TLR7 is identical to my licensed airsoft gen4 G19 w/TLR7. Real weight (not equally balanced however) and to spec.
