This could go in a few places but this will do. I recently inherited a J. C. Higgins model 88. It’s a beautiful gun. It’s one of the less common variations with tons of scroll work. It was my Grandmother’s and actually her dads. Research say it shoots Short, Long, Long Rifle. Which makes it a great squirrel and rabbit gun. Pretty sure my Great Grandfather used it for this purpose some 50 odd years ago.

So here is why I put it in the Holster section. I’m left handed and need to come up with a holster for this gun. I’m a retention Nazi so it would need some type of retention. I’m thinking leather thumb break to prevent any excess wear like it might get from a kydex that forms snug around the gun. I’m open to suggestions because so far the best I got is find a thumb break for an obscure 60+ year old firearm.

Truly beautiful, not just the firearm but the provenance.

I had told my mom for years that I wanted my Grandfather’s Python and would pay market price if I had to. But in the 21 years between my Grandfather and Grandmother’s passings it sadly came up missing. When she handed me this one last gun that my Grandmother had,and said it was mine if I wanted it, I almost cried.

It was in good shape, but it had some tarnish. I just finished polishing it up and can’t keep my hands off of it. The trigger is everything you would expect from a classy revolver in single action. No creep, just a clean break.

You can probably have a lined holster made for it by one of the makers like El Paso Saddlery. That’s what I do with the ones I want to go gentle on.

IIRC, HS also made them under the Revelation brand. Nice, interesting revolver. Welcome!
I don't remember them being chambered for anything except 22LR.
