I’ve been dabbling with leather over the last year, mainly making belts for family and friends. I have made some decent belts, but I’m definitely not where I want to be as far as producing a consistent product. I’ll keep going though until I can make a nice product. I have gained tons of respect for the leather workers who produce great looking belts and other items. I’ve also learned that good tools can make a big difference when working the leather. For a change I went in a little different direction and made a chisel case out of leather and some cypress wood I had left over from a recent project. I’m giving it as a gift to my cousin who is like a brother to me. He had borrowed a set of wood chisels I had because he didn’t have any. He and I both like vintage American made hand tools so I picked up a nice set of craftsman wood chisels on eBay to give to him. There are not top of the line, but just good quality tools for work around the house. I got the design from you tube and the internet then designed it to hold the chisels. I made a few errors during the build, but the end product will last a long time. The pics are in reverse order of construction.
