Reminds me of a sign behind the gun counter at Barney's in Carencro. The sign says, "Your wife called. She said you can buy anything you want."

    Haha! That’s a hoot!
Keep the wife happy and you can have a room just for your guns.
Yes sir, keep her happy, in the dark and out of that room. Been working for me for years.

    Stay sneaky my friend...

My wife collects solid silver heavy walled C Flutes with Gold Head Joints, and Risers.

I don't ask her how many flutes she can play at once.

She doesn't ask me about my gun hoarding.

I'm lucky to not have this problem. My girl gives zero f**** what I do or how I spend my money. But I know quite a few poor bastards who do have to deal with stuff like this all the time! Some say I'm lucky.

I have one of those. I even try to get her interested by showing her every new gun I acquire. She takes the gun, press checks/clears it and says something like "too heavy" or "feels ok" depending if the grip size fits her hand, and then she passes it back to me. Not really worried about what I do. She did "put her foot down" recently and told me that i could not buy another safe. So my dad bought it and it is at his house... and in my inheritance. Now if I plan to make a safe instead of buying one she will not have a say in that!!!

My first wife (notice the first) had a problem with buying guns.

The second wife knew up front if we have the money, guns are being bought. She’s a history buff and encourages (maybe enables) my collecting behavior. To be fair the best guns I bought or traded for recently were a awesome condition K31, Arisaka type 38 carbine, and several Arisaka type 99’s.

My safe is overfilled and she wants to get another one or build a room.

    My first wife sucked.

So if you’re really into guns replace your wife.

If you’re in a state that doesn’t condone guns, move.

Please don’t follow my advice I’m not a role model.

The only thing that bothers me about my collection is what will happen to it when I’m gone. I want my children to have the heirlooms which is why I pass them down when I feel like they’re stable enough and not prone to sell them off.
The rest I’m sure the wife will sell off, but it breaks my heart that she’ll prolly sell them for what she thinks I paid for them... just breaks my heart I tell ya.

My plans for the collection in the future. At what ever age it feels right I’ll find like minded individuals and sell the collection to them, either in part or as individual weapons. My hope is I’ll enjoy telling them about the history and they’ll enjoy learning it.

I’m aware that life is what happens while we plan.
