Another "it can't hurt to ask" thread.

I'm trying to piece back together a friend's completely ratted STG58. To accomplish this goal I need to find a correct "short" gas tube for the rifle. Any chance anyone has one of these lying around? I found one source online, but figured I'd try here first before I had to order and wait...

    Thanks

StG short tubes were just long tubes that are cut and soldered into the gas block.

Usually you solder the long tube in place then cut it to keep it square with the receiver so the gas piston doesn't bind.

Thanks! Good to know. I'm still learning my way around when it comes to fal rifles, Thought briefly about buying a long tube and cutting, but didnt know if there were other differences in the tubes besides length.Greatly appeciate the info.

So, anybody have a spare standard length fal tube around Hammond/B.R.?
