    I just converted S&W M&P 15 sport 2 to a flat top with free float hand guard.
    Is there any reason to keep a new sighting system at the A2 sight height?
    Any advantage to going to low profile sights?

    You need to have the sight at the same height as the carry handle sight. Since the stock is in-line with the bore, you can’t get your head low enough to be correct. That’s why they make so many risers for optic sights.
