Figured I would do a flashback to when 22lr was on short supply. We shot plenty of 38spl, 9mm and even 45acp cast loads.
    All light bullets.
    148 38spl wadcutters
    115 grain 9mm
    45acp 185 full wadcutters
Since my lead supply is still good. Also was given an old unopened 8-pound keg of RedDot and a 4-pound keg of Unique.
Both in the old Brown Cardboard.
Both still like the day they made them.
Sadly large supply of 18-20 dollar Russian primers is low. But even at $30.00 for 1000, it is still just 3 cents a round. And still, have lots of donated powders.
This time 9mm revolver loads will be new bullet profiles. Found Lyman 356404 125 grain (now obsolete) for Unique Cream Puff Loads.
The 356404 was used in 9mm and 38 Super loads. So was a great candidate for 9mm Revolver loads at just 125 grains and Medium Burn Rate Shotgun Powders listed in the Lyman books. I found years ago but never used it so I figured it was time. It should work fine in the 3rd Generation S&W semiauto's as they eat anything.
Was kinda disappointed as this mold should have been 75 Grains but was a special order and made longer so comes in art a little over what the 356242 and 358242 round more weighs.
But does have the bullet profile I was looking for.
I will also make up some 75-grain 358101 38 Special Wadcutter for some cheap good fun. All I have is some cast not sized/lubed but took a picture next to some 148-grain ones.
That's what I was looking to do in the 9mm real light bullets.
I may just order a 358242 round more with flat front with Hollow Point Pins.
It starts out as 90 grain copy but is 88 with the nose lopped off and is 80 grains with the HP Pins in.

Loaded some with Unique at the start load of 4.8 and some at 5.2 Max is 6.1
Even at 5.2, it was quite a case fill used the Pact Powder Dispenser and Scale since it was just some test rounds is fast enough.
The 9mm cylinder is really tight so if it fits in it is no problem in my other guns.
The OAL is recommended at .915" Short Litte things aren't they.

I wanted the 357/9mm after shooting the 45acp like it.
We shot quite a lot of the strange-looking 452389 sized to .452" I could not get a shot of the 9mm cylinder but did show in the larger 45 one
The cylinders on both are tight and headspace the case mouth, so lead bullets must be seated right or they are a no go.
OAL on those are short as well at 1.080" it is just what the book says too.

Have you thought about using any of the HiTech coating instead of the wax lube?

    I'm way behind in my casting. I need to cast 1K 148gr LSWC's, 500 102gr LRN .355's for .380, and a bunch of 92gr .314's for 32/20 and .32 H&R Mag.
