Or if you really wanna crank out punishment.
600 grain 458 socom subsonic with a suppressed 10 or 12.5 barrel is the definition of knock down power.
That feeling when you realize M855A1 is bringing 1371 foot pounds to the 600 gr socom’s 1336, while fitting three times as many rounds in the mag, all at a much lower price.

To be fair, civilians are not acquiring M855A1 unless it "fell off a truck."
True... but in the civilian world it will work lol and saying green tip makes for a lot of cool factor points
M855A1 isn't common M855 green tip ammunition.

This is true and is a product of me not wanting to calculate energy from any round and going with first result off of google. Either way, there are plenty of 62 grain rounds pushing 1300 foot pounds, so the point is the same.
No worries.
A lot of people do bring up M855A1 in discussions, but rarely talk about how it tears up your gun and isn’t available for us normal folks. People also forget, or have no clue, that rounds like .300BLK, .458 Socom, and 6.8 SPC were designed for specific purposes and never meant to replace 5.56 ammunition.
What specific purposes? That's not something I was aware of.

To be fair, lots of .mil stuff falls off of trucks.
