Yes I can legally purchase a weapon but then I will have to wait for a background check in the start of a shut down is a risk I am looking to avoid with limited funds. Why pay premium for something new when the purpose is to spend minimum just to sell at same price when this blows over? Protection only nothing fancy.

I also have a 37mm launcher with folding stock I can trade.

I actually just sold a Jennings 8months who as it was so unreliable it would have definitely got me killed.

Titan, not a Jennings. They made them with Tanfoglio parts on Zamak frames. Bit small for me to carry, but it works.

Try Interstate Arms and Hebert’s.

Hebert’s has a full page ad for Smith & Wesson Sales. REALLY low prices. The Shield 9mm and M&P Compacts were UNDER $350.

I think LA Sportsman has a Ruger P95 for sale under $300. It's a reliable gun, and at the price point you're looking for. Either a P95 or P89 would fit your needs well.

I personally would usually prefer using local businesses but there are a couple of items under $300 at Academy such as Ruger EC9 ($229) and Taurus G2 ($249 - in stock today 3/20 at BTR-Cortana). I bought a Shotgun there last week and the BG check only took 12 minutes.
