Anyone here have an aluminum frame Glock or have any experience with one? I saw it in an article here and was interested in getting one:

I'm used to Sig P226 and P229 guns and was wondering if it felt similar to the Sigs.

    Thanks,
    Dave

It’s only available as a Gen 3 19 frame, so you probably won’t find many people with one.

There is very little reason to switch from the factory polymer frame. CCF tried to market frames a long time ago and they didn’t sell well.

Just wanted to try something different. Never even knew that aluminum frames existed for the Glocks. Didn't see much of any reviews on the frames, so just wanted someone's opinion on it to see if it's even worth it to buy.

The added weight doesn't really matter much since you can add frame weights to polymer frames. The downside to an aluminum frame is the inability to easily alter it. With polymer frames you or a reputable company can stipple it, remove the finger grooves, alter the grip angle, or simply add an undercut if you wish.

I have fired the CCF stainless steel frame G17/34. As mentioned, the weight does change the recoil pulse.
The CCF frame in Al or SS had a different shape than the gen3 poly frame. The CCF has backstrap to go with a hump or flat. The flat shape makes it much more like a 1911. Any metal frame will probably require a shok-buff, etc. for long term use to protect the frame. That may be a deal breaker for anything that is not a range toy.

    Appreciate your input. Thanks.
