For that price, you can get the barrel threaded and still be ahead...

I have a Marlin tube fed, hunt with it often. I don’t like a mag sticking down for carrying purposes as most times I’m doing quite a bit of walking, that’s just a personal preference. Looks like a fun little rifle for the price.

my experience with Rossi maybe different from yours but I am going through replacement of two Rossi revolvers on a safety recall since August of last year. Good Luck with this .22 Mag semi-auto. My CZ512 was a little ouch but it works well.
The .22mag subsonic is different from .22LR subsonic, how? Bullet weight?

All the cost of 9mm with none of the power, remind me again why I should care about 22mag?

200 bucks is a good deal for a 22mag rifle, but I am just saying that because they are always way more expensive than 22lr. And I have no idea why. Maybe 22lr rifles are extra cheap? 22mag always struck me as a boutique cartridge for specialized uses, none of which I ever had.

Because .22mag. out of a 5 inch barrel ballistically matches a .22lr fired from a 16"+ barrel. And .22mag fired from a rifle comes close to matching the ballistics of an ar15 pistol in .223rem.

As far as not being as powerful as 9mm, why would anyone buy a 9mm ar when .223 is more powerful than 9mm?

I agree as far as a pistol, but for a rifle .22 mag can shoot tight groups at 100 yards unlike .22lr and 9mm

Hoping for a better run with a rifle than some of their pistols have fared. I have a Rossi double barrel in 20ga that’s been an awesome shotgun, but it’s as old as me and a more simple design.
The subs are 45gr. I only shoot them in my CMR and have to hand crank them but it makes for a good pack gun when you can go extremely quiet (threaded for suppressor) as a game getting option and still have 30 rounds of magnum pop on hand.

    You shouldn’t give a hoot about 22mag.
If you don’t already appreciate the round and the niche that it fills there’s no sense in trying to now. I grew up with a marlin bolt action tube fed that took a lotta game. When I got into the PMR pistols and finally bought a CMR 30 to play with I loaded up on mags and a metric snot ton of ammo that I paid a little less than 20 cents per round for, so another rifle at this cost appeals to me, as I’m sure it does to others. Comparing it to 9mm is like comparing 9mm to 30-30. They’re not even in the same ballpark. And, although there are 9mm AR’s and PCC’s, the applications for those and a 22 mag rifle are still worlds apart. Are we back in *every gun for self defense* mode again?

Hey btw... I seem to remember you owning and tinkering with a CMR 30 once upon a time...
    Never had?

Yeah that part is a stretch. The .223 would have to be 3" or less!

Any barrel shorter than 10" and you begin to lose the desired ballistics properties of .223 Remington, but that's somewhat normal with all calibers. Shorter barrels have a detrimental effect on velocity.

Since we're on the subject of rimfire though, I'm surprised no one mentioned .17 HMR or .17 WSM calibers.

Yeah, i was waiting for that as well since I have zero experience with and haven't done much reading on the .17's.

The WSM is the one that uses the .27 Cal ramset Shell's?
