Would a weak sear spring cause a semi auto rimfire pistol to fire in burst?
I have a High Standard Supermatic 107 that has started to fire in burst. I’m wondering if the sear spring needs to be replaced or if I need a new hammer and/or sear.
Attached is the contact between the hammer and sear.
What do I need to have done to fix it?

To me it appears the edge of the sear has become rounded rather than being a square sharp edge where it engage the hammer from wear. Stoning it to get a sharp square edge back may solve the issue.

I had one of those do the same thing. It was after I attempted to adjust the sear engagement screw. Some models had this feature, others did not. It's located at the rear of the frame, just above where the web of your hand would be when gripping the gun. If your HS has this screw, try tweaking it.

I appreciate all the input. Last night I fully removed the firing pin and spring from the slide and cleaned both and the chamber. It was moving freely but REALLY moves freely now. Thank you DBMJR1 for making me question myself.
I’ll test fire it Friday and go from there. I don’t think it has the sear adjustment screw, but I’ll check. And I might have the sear faced stoned anyways.
I’ll update this thread after I test it.
