I trained with the M82 gas mask in the Marines and even did daily 7 PT in full MOP gear. The little mask I wear at work is nothing. I don’t see the big deal, but it has always seemed to me that civilians and even some members of other services are just not as hard core as Marines.

As a marine you were part of government property and working for them and have to comply without and opinion and give up your rights to serve... and I thank you for your time and service... as a civilian we have diff rights and do not work or are owned by the gov... if anybody wants to we’re a mask.. they can have fun, but shouldn’t be mandated to were one of you so choose not to... that is a communist/socialist footstep along with many to gain control over the people....

What a bunch of fascists with all that "operating under the guidelines" set forth by the gubment. Don't they know this is 'merica. I know my rights. I'm not going anywhere that makes me wear a mask. Or pants. I'll bet those commies would infringe on my civil liberties and make me wear pants too.

On a serious note, I went to the one about 6 months ago and didn't really find much worth considering. I saw a bunch of "gun show specials" which were just stuff marked down from the MSRP to the street price. I don't know if the gun industry was hurt enough to make them lower the prices to the "need to sell" level. If I went, I'm sure I'd find some little things I'd want, like dust covers with funny things printed on them. I'll just go through the marketplace here if I want to find some overpriced Glocks and ARs.

As far as I know, the government in Louisiana has suggested/recommended people wear a mask when out in public. The only ones mandating you wear a mask seem to be private businesses. Although the state, acting as an employer, is requiring its employees wear a mask when interacting with the public.

Yep, we're not as hardcore as the Marines. And we also never acquired the taste of crayons.

Masks or not, gun shows are a fudd haven for overpriced trash and modern firearms at MAP.

Thanks to the wonderful world of the interwebs, gun shows rarely have deals.

Last time I went to the Gonzales show and bought anything, I had better luck finding deals at Cabelas.

Yea, we all eat lots of crayons.

The mask is not to protect you but to help stop the spread of this disease. I don’t think it will make any of y’all less manly trying to control this.

The mask is there to keep stupid people from coughing on everyone else.

I can understand the protection aspect of it... if you wanna protect yourself from me or anybody else by all means do it, that’s your right... but do it right lol, wear mono goggles that completely seal your eyes off from the covid vapor particularly , shave your beard and get fit tested with the proper respirator and proper seal...

I mean let’s be honest... I wear a seat belt to protect myself not the people I hit or hit me.. I look both ways before I cross the street to protect myself not the pickup truck... I learn to swim before I jump in the river so I don’t drown, not so somebody watching me on the bank doesn’t drown...just saying

I get the comparisons but they don't fit here. You getting injured in a wreck won't lead to someone else to be injured in a wreck. You getting hit by a truck won't lead to someone else getting hit by a truck. You drowning won't lead to someone on the bank drowning. But you having a respiratory tract infection can lead to others having a respiratory tract infection.

That being said, I personally take precautions to stay away from people and rarely wear a mask. When I go to the store, I generally have a bottle of hand sanitizer in my pocket and may sanitize my hands during the shopping trip. I wear a mask at work because it's required of me. I'm not saying a mask should be mandated. But I find it interesting that people will use having to wear a mask as the reason for not going somewhere they might otherwise go.

And wearing a face covering does not prevent stupid people from picking their boogers, rubbing their face, or forgetting to wash their hands before they touch something you might touch.

So while I understand the ideology behind it, let's be real... practice good hygiene and you won't die.

I don't go to gun shows, because buying a toy for my child is more rewarding than the entry fee to deal with the neckbeards at the fun show who are only there to finger bang every gun they played with on call of duty.

Last Gonzales gun show I went to, there was a Bayoushooter table in the corner where Spanky was giving members goody bags for stopping to say hello in person.
