Mike Ward's Liberty Safe in Baton Rouge has always given me great service, I'm not sure if that's something they offer but they may be able to point you in the right direction.

I was surprised to find that keypad locks are the standard now for gun safes. I didn’t want to have anything to do with a keypad lock and surely don’t at this point after hearing so many nightmare stories. Was there anything wrong with the manual dial type locks?

I have parts being sent from Cannon covered under Lifetime warranty. I really like that keyed lock though.

Did you replace the keypad yet? I would hold off on drilling until you at least try a new key pad, you can change it out without opening the safe.

When I got mine, the dealer ordered it in with a keypad. I made them change it out to an old fashioned dial combination lock. That was over 20 years ago and no problems with it.

Mr. Lemoine is in Covington but has a truck that he uses to service safes.

He just did an excellent job rebuilding my safe lock two weeks ago and he knows how to drill a safe as well.

He is a retired Slidell Fire Chief and has done locksmithing for 30 years.
