I haven't bought through a FFL in a while. I remember doing a FFL transfer from an out of state vendor I did not pay sales taxes at the time of the transfer. Is this still the case?

    Thank you,

    CH

It depends on where you buy it. If they don't charge tax at checkout then you should be GTG. FFL won't charge you tax on it as he didn't sell it to you.

Granted last time I did this was last year so don't know if laws have changed or not since then.

Some online stores will charge you tax when you order, but the FFL doing the transfer will not charge tax on the item you are purchasing elsewhere.

I never had an FFL charge tax on the weapon itself but I have had one LGS charge tax on the transfer fee.
