The 19X has a rougher surface finish on the slide as opposed to the slick surface finish on the Gen 5 pistols.

It’s not the coating. It’s the surface finish of the steel. These are both Physical Vapor Deposition coatings and I think it’s the surface finish as they are classified as CONFORMAL COATINGS - they are so thin that they conform to the surface roughness of the substrate.

I’ve worked with IonBond and the Director of Sales Sporting Division works for the company that processes Glock’s slides.

You did leave out that the 19X comes with night sights. Not all G45s come with night sights.
I have both and prefer the G45 over the 19X.

The G45 comes with polymer, steel, or night sights.
The G19X comes with steel or night sights.

People complain that Glocks have plastic sights, but don’t know that they can come with steel or night sights.

Yes, Glock has been offering more them polymer sights for a long time. But some people refuse to believe even when you show them that Glock put their own name on some sights.
