So I recently redone a vintage Remington 742 rifle in 30-06 and I want to top it with a vintage scope and scope rings/mount.
I am not too crazy about the see through scope rings that were on it for many years.
I came across a vintage Weaver Pivot Mount that apparently allows you to pivot the scope out of the way for closer shots so you can see the iron sights.
I was hoping that someone here has possibly used these in the past and can shed some light on these questions.
My questions are as follows;
Do these mounts allow you to return to zero after pivoting the scope out of the way?
Do these mounts have problems with the scope falling over to the pivot position at unwanted times?
How are these mounts in general?
Any other recommendations for vintage 60s-70s scope rings mounts for a Remington 742?
Here are some photos of the mount in question.
