I only used mine on my 450 Bushmaster AR @ the range to save the cases. 556 and 300 BO I just let stay @ the range on the ground. With the current situation and prices on ammo, maybe I should keep all brass in the future?

The kid's clearly trying to get away from the mob, who clearly pursue and attack before he opened fire. Still, the fact that he crossed state lines to attend the protest will be played to the fullest against him; his prosecutor will likely paint the picture that he "went looking for a fight". He'd have had a better defense had he been attacked by the mob in his home town or, better still, on his own property.

    From what I have gathered:

Kid was at said Auto Shop.
Rioter (Deceased #1) threw a molotov cocktail at the kid.
Kid put one in Deceased #1's dome.
Rioters then chased the kid down the street.
Deceased #2 attempts to hit kid with a skateboard and takes a round to the chest.
The next rioter pulls a pistol out and takes a round to the arm.

Disregarding his reasoning for being there, he was attacked and responded.

I agree. I saw 4 different videos which support this exact story. The kid seemed to be a good kid with morals who tried to protect himself. When you have thugs chasing you to beat you and you have a rifle, you have every right to protect yourself.

Here's the kid being interviewed earlier in the evening:

I'd expect all of this -- photos above, video of the incident, etc -- will work to his advantage. Still the points against him will get the loudspeaker treatment. Expecting calls for open carry bans and the usual AR-15 arguments.[/FONT]

I have no doubt this will be used to push gun control, affect the police, ruin this kid's life, and create more turmoil.

If they don't drop the charges, the court case will be interesting.

I've seen several reports already that he went to a Trump rally, supports the administration and expressed support for police on social media. I believe one also described him as a wanna-be cop. So guess how this will be tried in the court of public opinion?

A man, since he will be tried as an adult, was attacked and he will have to claim self defense.

The biggest issue here is that he put himself in that position to be attacked simply by being there and that's how it will play out when some scumbag prosecutor wants to make a name for himself.

Not to get off topic but how would they know who to fine?
I was wondering the same thing.

As for all this rioting crap, I just keep reverting to the LA/Rodney King riots. Anyone who wants to protest but insists on dragging innocents into the violence and goes on the attack is no longer a peaceful protestor. Physically attacking anyone in their car, the street, their yard, home, etc., opens the door for the victims to defend themselves.
Walking around with a firearm may not be a wise thing to do because I believe at that point you’ve opened yourself up to possibly being attacked. Driving down a street with your family is another thing altogether. Anyone stopping and attacking a car full of innocents is giving the ok to use whatever force necessary to protect your family. If law enforcement, the courts, the media and any involved officials would start announcing this publicly instead of even considering the rights of these ‘peaceful protestors’ I’m pretty certain they’d find another way to protest.
Bottom line for me is protecting myself and mine. That starts with wise choices. If I wind up in the fray due to my poor judgement or planning I will do what’s necessary to protect me and mine and I’ll just have to deal with whatever comes after. I’m not sacrificing the safety of my family for a bunch of idiots showing their asses.
