Marlin has a somewhat new model lever action out with a shorter barrel and in some different calibers than 30/30. Its black and somewhat tacticool. Its called the Dark series.

I've had a Marlin 1894 .357 since about 1994ish, and it is hands down my most favorite rifle to own, hold, and shoot. That being said, it is the last of my rifles I would go for in any "high stress" situation.

Perhaps if Trump looses and semi-autos go the way of the dinos, I'll feel differently. For now, it will remain just my favorite rifle.

ETA: Just about the last. I do own some .22 rifles.

I have a Henry I can tape a maglite to...

Even Henry is producing a lever action rifle with a threaded barrel now, .357 mag and .44 mag models. Attach a suppressor and use 38 or 44 special rounds (subsonic) and you have a quieter killing machine. I just searched yesterday, they are hot can't find em in stock right now anywhere. And they are not cheap either. Henry X model.

I have one of the early Guide Guns, ported barrel, I put a large loop lever on it because the recoil of the 45-70 in that lightweight gun hurt my hand. Only other "tactical" feature is a scout scope mounted well forward, I just could not be dodging the eyepiece of a scope every time that scope came back in recoil.

I suppose mine is tactical for the 1892 configuration. Like Sportsbud, if it comes down to it, got duct tape or some other Bubbatisation cause to bust out a mod.92, the poop has done blown thru the fan an is everwhere
I do dig those antlers on the mare's leg or whatever looks cool

"Quieter" being an understatement. .357 mag out of a long barrel is stupid quiet *without* a can. You almost don't need earpro.

Conversely, my Dad has the exact same rifle I do but in .44 mag. His sounds like artillery.
