I picked up my first two cans a couple of weeks ago, and will be going to shoot them for the first time Sunday. I will be shooting my rimfire can on a Thompson Center TCR22 and it is has an o-ring on the muzzle to keep the thread protector tight. Should I remove the o-ring before installing and shooting the can or leave it on?

Not only that. Before shooting the first round or so, I'd put about 1/4 cup of gear oil in it and sort of roll it around to coat the internals with oil. Sit it on a rag with the exit hole down to drain the excess oil, the install and enjoy. This is referred to as "wet". Wet suppressors are quieter than shooting them dry. There only needs to be a little oil residue in the can for this to work. Also, down the road, it'll be easier to clean it.
