Has anyone ever actually been satisfied with the guns they own.... and stayed satisfied?

Every time I get to a point where I think. I’m good, I’ve got every thing I need and want. Then two weeks later the itch to get something different comes up again.

Do I have some sort of disease?

Some say never being satisfied with what you have is a demon pushing you to Want more and more. Well sometime I just snuggle with my demons and hit the place order button. We have learned to cohabitate quite nicely.

I have a really short list of if I ever get silly.
50BMG, 14" S&W 500 Performace Center Go Big Or Go Home kinda.
And on the list of get as soon as I have enough Cabela's Points a Sig Sauer MPX Rifle in 9mm I had missed it on sale once but did not have enough points to feel like it was ok to buy.
The longer I wait the less it cost.

    Disease?
    Problem?
You guys take gun ownership way too negatively...
I know a lot of people who look at having children in much the same fashion, when they’re actually blessings.
If the problem is the money, then the problem is the money, not the guns... am I right?
    Just sayin’

It's not our fault - every time we realize that we have every gun we need (want), then the evil devil manufacturers come up with a variation or new caliber or something we need (want) to force us to spend more money. It's their fault. Or Bush's. Or Trump's. Or somebody.
    It's not our fault.

Well I feel like I am in good company here. After several bouts of this disease I’ve learned not to trade or sell guns because I just buy them again later on :). Baby steps

I had most of my guns stolen back during graduate school in '07. It forced me to focus on getting the guns that I prioritized most highly. I'm at a point now where I value having duplicates and backups. I've mostly got AKs and ARs for my long guns, and Glocks and 1911s for my handguns.

I enjoy guns for both recreational and competition shooting, but also for being potential projects and experiments. There's always something new to try. I have Colt Ace and .460 Rowland projects going in handguns, and have in mind both AK and AR projects that I'd like to start on.

I've got fewer guns than most people who are really into guns, but I'd like to think that the guns I do have represent some additional creativity and purposeful thought.
