    CHP training is good for what it is ... but it's not a comprehensive self-defense shooting class. Most instructors I know are pretty up front with their students about this, and actively encourage them to get better training to suit their particular defense needs.

    That said, the trainers I know are going gangbusters with training right now. In fact, the demand for CHP and basic pistol is so high right now, that some of the more advanced classes (which admittedly draw smaller crowds) are being cancelled.

    If there was ever a time to be a trainer, now is it. Through to the end of 2020, I suspect any decent trainer could teach as many classes as he/she can manage.
