I'm curious. Let's pretend the below was the Facebook post that was made instead of the actual one. If it was a black Democrat threatening white Republican gun owners, would you guys be so quick to laugh and make fun? Wouldn't you want to show up in New Orleans in an armed protest and see if he has the balls to take you out 10 at a time for exercising your 2nd amendment right?

To be clear this is a fake one I'm using for an example

This was the real post that led to the video in the original post and them wanting to demonstrate in Lafayette

Here’s a reply of sorts...Warning: Strong racial tones

    https://youtu.be/MZ2XI8c0-k8

This might give a little insight into what’s going on on the other side.

Notice in his video he stops quoting Higgins just before "we don't care what color you are". Because it doesn't serve his agenda well. He wants to make it a direct threat against armed black people, which serves his agenda perfectly.

Lets pretend I woke up this morning with a net wealth of 10 billion dollars and live in Monaco.

Is this thread about someone living that experience and others bashing it? I'm asking you to put yourself in someone else's shoes. This forum is full of libertarians and republicans who love their country and admit many times they will use their 2nd amendment God given right to bear arms to fight against a tyrannical government that threatens to remove their rights. Yet when the tyrants look and think like the same people who make those claims, it's all good because "they're on my side".

i didnt see where he called out anybody personaly or any race personally.. looks like he said any threat and any race.. and with all the smart computer people these days and hacking accounts, i would assume anybody said anything till i heard it come out ther mount.. those memes and tweets ect are very easy to confuse and tell the wrong meaning.. heck they even hacked trumps page a few times lol... also i wonder what gun hes shoting at 1450fps maybe like a 10mm or a 90gr 9mm +p+?

He never retracted the statement and the only reason it disappeared off Facebook is b/c they removed it, not him. He said it and it seemed pretty clear who he was threatening. All I'm trying to say is if the shoe was on the other foot, the same people laughing at these folks would be enraged and organizing their own protests. I'm a libertarian and believe in rights for all regardless of your skin color. If you want to exercise your right to bear arms and open carry in a protest, you are 100% legally allowed to do so, I don't care what color you are, what God you believe in, who you want to marry, etc. It's your right as an American citizen. When we start believing that rights only apply to certain groups, they'll be taken away bit by bit until they're taken away from the groups that we belong to as well.

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out— because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

First off, God did not write the second amendment in the US constitution. Nor is there anywhere in the bible where God said "I give you the right to bear arms to fight against a tyrannical government". So you are totally false in that statement.

Next you say lets pretend and switch races in Higgins statement. But it didn't happen that way, and I just am not a very good "pretender" anyways.

About as valid as me waking up this morning "worth 10 billion dollars" LOL.

Higgins did not address his statement to any specific racial group. He even says " I don't care what color you are...." But the guy in the video left that out, and you seem to ignore that here too.

I'm not trying to force my opinion on anyone here (it is an open discussion) but you attempt to make it about race, that Higgins' statement was addressed to a specific race which it clearly is not.

So I have to ask you why? What is your agenda? Why are you trying to make it a race issue?

He posted a picture of armed BLM protesters and made the post in response to protesting Trayford Pellerin's death. The death was on August 21 and protests were happening outside of city hall the week after (Aug 24-28). His post was made right after that so it's very clear who the post is targeting regardless of his "I don't care what color you are" addition. He didn't say anything about the Michigan Militia performing armed marches on the Michigan capital. He posted to send a very clear and direct message to the people who were protesting in Lafayette.

If Biden and Kamala get elected and want to start infringing on our 2nd amendment rights, we need as many people on "our side" as possible regardless of their color. It's not some type of fantasy world where you're worth 10 billion dollars, it's the highly likely reality that is coming soon if Trump doesn't get reelected. My agenda is to try and get people to stop fighting amongst themselves and to see the bigger picture. As long as you're looking over there being distracted, you won't be looking at the guy behind the curtain making our rights disappear.

God did not write the bible either. People who were inspired by the Holy Spirit did. Te people inspired to write the US Constitution did so believing in natural rights granted to every human being regardless of their skin color, gender, country of origin, etc.

Show me where in the US constitution pertaining to the second amendment where it is written "God given right to bear arms to fight against a tyrannical government". Post a link to such verbage, I'll wait.

You and you alone here have made this comment by Higgins a racist comment directed at a specific group of people. You and the guy on youtube. For all I know you and he could be one in the same. You both seem to share the same misrepresentation of Higgins actual statement.

You can believe what you want as i don't think facts will change your mind on this. I'm done here. Have a nice day.

I never stated that exact verbiage was in the US constitution. As with most documents and texts, you have to put on your thinking cap and understand the time when the documents were written and about the people who wrote them. Then you can interpret the text and understand what it means. If you need a history lesson and want to learn a bit about what natural rights are, this is a good read - https://www.crf-usa.org/foundations-of-our-constitution/natural-rights.html

I did not say Higgins made a racist comment. I said he had a very clear message targeted at a very specific group of people. He made a direct threat to BLM protesters that if they showed up with arms he would strike them down. I'm sure if white, hispanic, or asian people showed up with rifles at a BLM protest wearing BLM t-shirts he would target those people as well.

I am not really sure where you are going with the comparison with me and a guy on YouTube. All I am asking people to do is to put themselves in someone else's shoes before making judgements and casting stones. It's easy to say "Those protests are stupid and the armed protesters deserve to be threatened" when they're protesting something you disagree with. If you turn the situation around where people are protesting something you do agree with you might actually grow as a human being and learn something about empathy.

If they are law abiding citizens, then they have the right to bear arms. If they openly carry those arms in public in accordance to state laws, they should be able to do so without having threats made towards them. If we prevent the exercising of these rights for one group of people then what is to protect all other groups?
