My 10yo son shows interest in archery but I do not know where to take him. We live in Gretna with neighbors to side and behind us, I dont think it would be a good idea to have him shooting in the backyard. Are there archery ranges in the area? Groups or clubs that have kids that shoot?

When I lived out there I use to take my son to westbank archery. It has been a few years but it wasn't too expensive from what I remember.

Find your local 4H club. It is a fantastic organization and they do a great coaching kids in archery. My wife & I are both archery coaches for our parish 4H club and we have over 50 kids involved from all skill levels.

NORD does archery classes at Joe Brown Park in the east every thursday from 4-6pm. Free, and they provide equipment and basic instruction. You mentioned you are in Gretna - I live in Algiers, so I know the drive is a bit more than you have in mind, but it was the perfect environment for getting a bow into my son's hands and letting him get comfortable at his own pace.
