I am considering jumping through the SBR hoop again, this time on my UZI B and HK 94. I have an extra UZI barrel I can have cut and threaded and I have a source on threaded 5"+ and 8"+ HK barrels. And ideas on "proper" lengths for these projecst? I intend to run a short 9mm can with direct threads. Thanks.

Go 3 lug! Its super fast to switch and less likely that the can will walk off of the gun.

On the Uzi it may be just as cheap or cheaper to buy another barrel thats already threaded. I would stick with a 10" or 10.5" barrel to duplicate the original look and for functionality. Chrome lined is a plus too.

Send the HK to builder/smith who specializes in that platform. You may want to just get a new barrel with 3 lug installed. This will make it look how a mp5 should!

225mm or 8.858 inches is the original mp5 barrel length. You just have to decide if you wanna do a navy barrel like the sp5 has or a standard barred with 3 lug only. As a SBRed SP5 owner just threading the barrel on a HK would look kinda awkward IMO. A real HK deserves the best treatment available. ;)

    Heres some barrels:

Michaels Machines does ground up builds and some fantastic conversions that make your gun look just like a real full auto mp5.

What ever you decide, I agree 3 lug is the way to go. Length will be dependent if you want that *K* look or not
