Same 20 years in the industry, and I have never seen prices on Ammo this way. AR's yes, ammo, no. Never been as hard to get as it is now. Every manufacturer I speak with sings the same song. PRIMERS, they are all bidding for primers, which is driving cost of manufacture up incredibly high.

Seen that on GB,5000 CCI Small rifle went for..boom badda bing $1,188.00

I have and know people that have bought it.

On the higher end 9mm was .60’per round but I was still able to buy it without much effort for .30-.35 per round. Now .60 is the cheapest you’ll see it unless you’re buying it from academy or bass pro when it’s actually in stock.

I haven’t looked in about 6 weeks or so but every so often early in the morning I would see some some 9mm 500 or more rounds for around .40-.45 per round. I’m starting to think that’s probably not happening anymore

You can still find 9mm for $0.26-28/rd, but it goes fast. Did you watch the video I posted of the guy camping out at Academy? That was ten days ago. He said he paid $129.99 for a 500 rd box of WWB. That's $0.26/rd. The issue right now isn't price. It's availability. The only stuff available is $0.60/rd or more, because the cheaper stuff is bought up in minutes.

I was sitting on the throne one day when I got a text alert that some Federal LE132 00 Buck was restocked. By the time I logged in to buy it, it showed a few units left. Then when I added to my cart, it said sold out.

did you read my post lol? The last thing I said was unless your buying it from academy or basspro when it’s in stock. I stop by a couple times a week on mornings they get trucks 5 minutes before the doors open and always am able to get what they have available. Only one time did they run out of 5.56, 9mm, and .45 before I got a chance to buy it. Theirs usually a good 75-100 people ahead of me In line and I’m always able to get the same stuff they do except that one time.

Academy and Bass Pro/Cabela’s are not the only shops getting it cheap though. The others who do receive shipments were from orders processed months ago and they sell fast.

I’m not seeing that around me anymore. The two shops I knew of locally on the westbank that weren’t charging crazy prices are now charging.60 per round for 9mm. All other pistol calibers with the exception of 380 are now cheaper than 9mm for me locally. Luckily I’m not In a position where I need any pistol calibers. I was well stocked before this year and now my stock Is even more plentiful. Unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be able to go to the range every weekend like I was and shoot 300-600 rounds of pistol calibers anymore without tapping into my reserve. For now I’m going to limit shooting pistols to two weekends a month with the exception of the TX22 I just purchased. Also FYI not sure where your located but Gretna Gun shop had federal le127 and le132 00 buck have been in stock for a good while now. I don’t recall the price per 5rd box it’s been awhile since I purchased any. I’m sitting on a little over 100rds of each so I figured I’d leave some for someone else.

also academy in Gretna had 12 gauge Winchester defender in stock today. For those not familiar with it it’s a 1oz rifled slug and 3 00 buckshot pellets 1150fps. Maybe not the best option for home protection depending on where you live since it has a 1oz slug in it but still definitely something good to keep in the stash. 10rd boxes are $19.99. They had about 30-40 boxes left at around 5pm when I stopped in. Also had a ton of Remington Golden bullet value packs 525rds of .22lr for I believe $25 or somewhere in that ballpark. Maybe 10 boxes of hornady critical duty in .45acp for $25

7 cents per round last year when Walmart sold out their pistol and AR ammo. I bought all they had at 7 stores over the course of 2 days. Just gotta scoop up them deals when you find them.

I still have 2 5000 round case's of CMP Rem mil surplus 22lr for AR it is target vol. Ammo and was 90 bucks a case but 12 to ship.
I did wait to long to restock primers. As that were up there in price.
I like SA revolvers so shooting 22lr in Bearcat, Single Six, Black Hawk or the DA S&W I have is fine with me if things take time to.bounce back.
Thankful 2 of my other hobbies are casting bullets and reloading so kinda stacked the lead and amno deep

I like to stock up on the 22 as well. You can’t beat it for everyday plinking or training and when I find loads I really like I keep a lookout for them and buy in bulk. I remember buying a brick of Wolf target from Sportsman’s Guide years ago before people realized what a jewel it is. I loaded up on it shortly thereafter and now you can hardly find it. I grabbed a couple of cases of CCI Standard and segmented HP Subsonic and that Aguila 60gr SSS because I have an old CZ that puts it in a tight group. Most of it was 4-7 cents per round by the case. Only problem with buying bulk like I do is the storage issue. Once you get that worked out, whatever you spend doing it seems like small potatoes when a shortage hits. If you $5k per year on ammo when prices are down and supply is plentiful you can spend your money on other things or save it during the crunch. You also get a lot more bang for your buck.

Just walked in and out of academy at 9:15am. No need to camp out hours before and anyone who tells you they can’t find ammo is not putting any effort into it 200 rounds of 9mm and 100 rounds of .45acp

What manufacturers are "bidding for primers?" I know Federal/CCI/Speer make their own and Sig started to do the same. I would imagine there are some manufacturers that source primers, but I would also be inclined to believe it's the smaller manufacturers.

Though there are dozens of major and minor ammunition manufacturers in the U.S., only four domestic manufacturers produce primers: Federal, CCI, Remington and Winchester.

Every other manufacturer except these 4, and you can bet Remington's manufacture is not running at capacity at this moment.
