All of these are from the last couple of days, and should concern you. If all the other evidence was a yellow flag, this should be a red flag right here. Bank of America and Blue Cross coercing the political opposition to Biden into surrendering. All social media banning trump and AWS no longer allowing Parler.....

Uh, well -there's not much argumentative substance in a statement like that. It has very little to do with bottom line obligation and lots more to do with the way these companies have presented themselves in order to gain popularity and acceptance. They have literally exploded onto the scene and that's due to the precise understanding of human behavior and how to use that knowledge for profit, and more importantly power. Maybe what freaks him out is the demonstration of that power where the "private company" is wielding ie "social platforms flex their power, lock down _________ accounts" -that it's finally sinking in that there is much more at hand than a convenient way to shop, make friends, etc. That a private company has presented itself as a reliable and trustworthy friend, partner, vendor, agent, etc. as long as the terms of the relationship are adhered to and not really knowing what those terms are. The "private company" has evolved and is more akin to an AI machine. Citing some old fashioned corporate "obligation" is rather archaic, no?

I had a feeling I would find some short sighted sentiment like this...

Yes those companies are privately held. And this is one of the issues with capitalism that is hard for some to see past. With enough money and leverage, large companies can wield an impressively large amount of control over the population. It is a negative aspect of capitalism, and often waved around by the socialists. However it is not easy to fix and handing over too much power to the government (the other option most frequently suggested) will not make anything any better. We have plenty of proof of this.

For example: Standard Oil was broken down 100 plus years ago, as it was deemed a "monopoly". This was a "symbolic" act as it did not change anything, except for the average people's perspective. The people in charge remained in charge and it was business as usual.

As far as Amazon being a private company (and that somehow making it ok for them to do whatever they want), lets look at a possible scenario. Amazon made a bunch of money when the country was shut down. A lot more people made online orders and funnels a lot of money into amazon. So now Amazon has a proven result to a certain situation. I wonder which presidential candidate that the bean counters at amazon would prefer? A guy who has actively said he would shut the country down again, or...

It does not take much to see this.

There's nothing short sighted about my point. Private companies aren't bound by the Constitution in the same way that the government is.

That said, I'm well aware of anti-monopoly laws and their history in this country. I wouldn't object to Facebook and Twitter being broken up. And I can certainly see the argument for Amazon to be broken up too.

Thankfully, there is no shortage of web hosting companies out there. Amazon certain'y isn't the only game in town.

My main point about this was, if there is nothing to hide, then why are they trying to so hard to silence the opposition? Why are all these big players and big money trying to SILENCE any concern for an investigation? I mean, witnesses have come forward, and AT&T says I'll give you a million dollars if you don't listen to that witness! Isn't that concerning to you? Do you see how someone would find that suspicious? That's why I was saying, Just the testimonies alone are a yellow flag, but then all these powerful guys then jumping in to squash it and calling it dangerous makes it a red flag. Why are they trying to so hard to hide it?? Why are they actively suppressing the dialog surrounding the election? And they're doing it in League, in a non-competitive fashion. For instance, Facebook banned Trump, Pinterest Banned Trump, for something he did on TWITTER. He didn't even do anything on those platforms to deserve getting banned. Imagine getting banned from Lowes because you did something at home depot! Its not right, and its fishy as hell! Honestly, I've talked to my wife about this a lot the last few days. And we are prepared for anything that happens, but we are going to stay cool and take things one at a time. Its not the time to lose your cool and make yourself scared about what-if worst case scenarios, but it is scary.... and everyone should keep this in the back of their minds.

I liked Trump because he didn’t talk down to us dirt people the way the other loud politicians famously do. I enjoyed watching him trash-talk the people I consider my enemies, and I don’t think our current level of divisiveness came from him. I’m sad that he won’t be inaugurated, and I’m not a boomer conspiracy nut to believe that Biden was installed, at all costs, by our shadow rulers.
