    114 homicides last year. I’ve seen a few of them roll in. I’m thinking a lot of those were gang/drug related.
    Anyway, posting the graph I saw in the Advocate this morning. Kinda puts it in perspective.

    With COVID raging, domestic abuse cases are up. People are more desperate to make ends meet and likely resorting to crime more. And all of this comes on top of the same problems that have been plaguing this city of generations. No surprises here.

    I haven’t noticed a spike in domestic calls, just the normal amount. I have my own views on why violence has gone up but I don’t have permission to speak about it on the internet.

    This makes sense. And I would imagine that the whole *defund the police* movement isn’t helping any but who knows.
