So, Godaddy kicked AR15.com off the webz? Wonder who’s next? Is this the beginning of the end for gun enthusiast sites?
I thought AR15.com had made arrangements to fix this.
Anybody got links to the real story?

It appears they are down for the count

FB has already begun to limit groups and restrict content. Some are migrating to MeWe, but I have a feeling it will make forums popular again.

    Ah, got it.
It sure would be a tragedy if this cancel culture crap and erosion of liberties for conservatives, Christians, patriots, gun owners, etc is allowed to stand, but I’m pretty certain the socialists and commies that are taking over this nation are gonna get away with it far into the future. I wouldn’t want to see any medium of communication and free speech be shut down. Every free person in this country has a God given right to speak their mind and that should never be taken away. I don’t particularly care for the crowd on AR15.com but I’d hate to see them shut down or harassed. Let’s hope that big tech and all those responsible are chastised and put in their place ASAP by both the public and governments before it suddenly becomes ok to shut down anything we care about.

Nobody's rights are being taken away here. And this has nothing to do with socialism or communism.

GoDaddy is a privately owned company. It can host whichever websites it chooses to host. And while I haven't read their hosting terms and conditions, I suspect that there's some verbiage in there that allows them to terminate a hosting account at its discretion. The owners of AR15.com presumably agreed to those terms and conditions when they contracted GoDaddy's services.

A little civics lesson: first amendment protections for free speech apply to the government, not to private individuals and private companies. In other words: the government can't censor your speech, but a private company most certainly can.

Put differently: I can stand on the sidewalk (public property) in front of your house and say what I want to. But as soon as I step onto your private property, I'm bound by your rules. If you don't want me to say what I'm saying, then you have every right to tell me to stop.

Lastly: let's say that you owned a web hosting company. And let's say that a gun control group wanted to host their website on your servers. Do you want the first amendment (vis-a-vis the government) to force you to host their website?

So, what happened? Did GoDaddy actually decide to stop hosting them or was it a glitch? I didn't watch the video and am asking for a TLDR/TLDW.

AR15.com did a bad job moderating the neckbeards that inhabit the forum calling for the big igloo to occur. GoDaddy sent a request for AR15.com staff to handle the issues, but they did not, cuz muh rights.

Why did GoDaddy suspend services to AR15.com?

On January 8, we received a complaint regarding certain content on AR15.com. Per our policy, our team investigated the content in question and confirmed it violated our terms of service because it incited violence. On that same day, we notified AR15.com that they had 24 hours to remove the content, or their domain name would be suspended. AR15.com responded that the content had been removed, yet when we checked to confirm, the site showed the content still live. Accordingly, we suspended services on January 11.

Although we informed AR15.com they had 24 hours to take action, we actually provided them with 53 hours to remove the content. Again, because the content was not removed, we followed our terms of service and suspended services to AR15.com.

Does GoDaddy plan to take the same action with other gun sites?

GoDaddy supports a free and open Internet. We do not take action on complaints that would constitute censorship of content that represents the exercise of freedom of speech and expression on the Internet. In instances where a site goes beyond the mere exercise of these freedoms, however, and crosses over to promoting, encouraging, or otherwise engaging in violence, as was the case with AR15.com, we will take action.

AR15.com has since changed domains. This isn't a first for GoDaddy.

You mean like gay rights forcing a bakery into bankruptcy because they refuse to bake a cake for a gay wedding? Choose your battles.
And while you’re at it, keep believing it’s all just private and personal choices that drive events like these.

    Apples and oranges.

GoDaddy exercised its rights based on the terms and conditions that were agreed to by all parties.

Discriminating based on sexual orientation is against the law—at least, it was according to the Colorado Civil Rights Commission. This, I believe, was overturned by SCOTOS, which in theory should have vindicated the bakery.

Not that wedding cakes and gay rights have anything to do with the second amendment ...
