Damn thing is huge. I wonder what the specs are on it.
My dads been catching alligators since before I was born so I've seen BIGG gators and when most people post pictures of a "big" gator it is under 10ft. but this sir is a BIG gator. He was definatly eating well! I'd say in the 13' range probably....500-600lbs.
Around here it would be worth about $130
You sell the whole gator for a certain price/ft. THEN the farm turns around and skins it and sells the hide to foreign countries like Italy,France etc. for 3xs what they paid for it. IDK if they sell the meat on these big ones, but on farm gators they do. My dad has almost 100,000 gators left to skin and hes been skinning for 3months. His crew skins about 100-120 4-5ft gators each soo abouut 700-800 a day......in 7hrs.

HMMM.. IDK that one might be bigger than I predicted....My dad caught this one and it was 13'6" 787lbs The one in the pictures looks longer... IDK about weight wise, but pretty close in length.

Not a damn thing. They skinned it wrong, it is worthless now. The belly is supposed to be the center of the hide; those guys split it.
A good friend of mine sent me those same pics plus a couple more of this beast last night and had the specs listed as '15.8" and 987 pounds. Needless to say I would not want to meet this gater in the water face to face.
Wrong. They skinned it hornback. They will most likely mount it and sell it and thats about $5k. When my dad killed that gator in the pictures above, someone offered him $7k for it if he mounted it for them, but they had already skinned it belly. You skin it belly for purses, belts etc. My has been skinning alligators for 20 yeards and some they skin most of their gators belly, but they do do some hornback, which is how they skinned this gator.

Got a link from Front Sight today about this. It has a video of a news story about the kid who shot this gator - the 2nd largest one ever taken in Texas.
