Looking for a good gunsmith to do some work on my Weatherby Mark V and Browning A-Bolt. Nothing major, just measure and fit the stock to my LOP and replace the current aftermarket recoil pads w/ Pachmayr Decelerators.

Anyone know of anyone in the N.O. or BR area?

    Thanks.

Anyone ever heard of Eduardo Chahin Gunsmithing in Baton Rouge?

Someone I hunt with highly recommended him.

    Thanks for the help.

This is somewhat off topic, but what are you using for a scope on your Weatherby? I have a 300 WBY mag and so far it has managed to break a Leupold and a Burris in less than 200 rounds. Mine doesn't have a muzzle brake, so that's probably contributing to their short lifespan.

    jhh,

My 300 Wby. doesn't have a muzzle brake/Accu-Brake either. But then again I might have close to 70 rounds through it also. I have a Swarovski Habicht AV 3-10 x 42 mounted on it. A little expensive, but add up the prices on the scopes you've gone through and it's about the same price.

The most i shoot it is for sighting in over the summer up to 300 yds. Get it sighted in for 2.5 inches high at 100, then shoot some five shot groups at two hundred then 300. Might do that 1-2 times a year the rest is hunting, and the occasional 3 shot group at 100 yds to check my scope.
