Just like the oild spill, why not this for the illegal border crossing problem:
Stage a massive roundup of illegal aliens. Take them all to the border and send them back in to Mexico at a greater rate than the illegals are crossing in to the U.S. Eventually, if it works, we will be reducing the numbers of illegals in the U.S. And one day they will all be gone and we can then put a "valve" on it. And, we might as well shoot alot of mud with them so as to prevent the ones trying to get in to the U.S. from being able to get past the mud, then throw in a cement plug to seal the border.
Of course this "top kill" method did not work for thr oil gusher so maybe it would fail on the aliens also.
But, like BP, we oughta give it a try. If this doesn't work then we could go to plan B, and so on.
