Anyone own a camp in Grand Isle? I'm looking to rent one for a few days, especially May 24th and 25th. I keep running into crooked real estate people who want outrageous prices and a minimum 4 night stay at a dump...

    Thanks.

Its a camp...as long as it keeps the rain off your head, the wind off your back and has a place to put your head, you're golden. Once you close your eyes at night (which is the only time you should be in the camp, and only if not fishing at night) it looks the same as the Marriot in Downtown NOLA.

Kemosabi, what were the rooms like? Its too late now though.

Tunatuk, that is my philosophy as well. However, the trip was to be for the girlfriend's birthday, and you know how woman can be...

You are a brave soul taking your GF to Grand Isle on her birthday. Sure my wife will go fishing, go shooting and generally have fun outdoors, but not on her birthday.

Bridgeside is the only place to stay.We caught live shrimp all day long off the peer.At night we fished off the pier for specs and flounder.mannnn we caught some fish and had a blast.....The rooms are basically set up like condo, all w/kitchen and living areas.....Its a blast to fish there, surf fishing is also very good ..we made the reds crap last time rt off the beach......I caught the largest flounder ive ever seen..Dam think looked like a searay on discovery channel.....This was 20 yrs ago we used to go yearly..I loved it...Boiled crabs and great surf fishing..Guided trips are killer also..Deep water isnt far from the beach, the spearfishing is second to none.We shot some huge fish out of Grand Isle....

I keep my camper at Bridgeside during the summer months. Great place. You never have to leave the marina. They have it all. Only time we leave is when we go fishing or ride the waverunners.
