I tend to like maduros, but will smoke others as well.
I really like the Partagas Black Label Piramide. Also several of the different Rocky Patel sticks.

I also like several of the smaller cigars that come in tins. The 4 3/16 x 32 Macanudo Ascot, the 3 3/4 x 24 Mac Miniatures. Patel has a couple that I like, both the Vintage 1990 & the 1992 4 x 38 Juniors.

Right now I'm smoking a CAO MX2 Dagger. It's also a 4 x 38 short Panatela. It's a very dark maduro. I love it. I plan on snagging some more of these next week.

I think the reason that I like the short Panatelas so much is that they go great with a cup of coffee and they don't tie you down for a long time like a Churchill or other large smoke. Don't get me wrong, there ain't nothing wrong with a good Churchill or Corona, but it's hard to find the time to sit down and really enjoy them like they should be.

    I'm a maduro guy too.

My hunidor has assorted styles of:
Dominican Cohiba's (as well as some from that other island out there ;))
    Partagas
    Punch Gran Cru
    a few Montecristo churchills
and the odd Padron, AXO, and Fuente. (had a couple Opus X's but they gave their lives honorably ;))

Sadly, I sold my collection. I just smoke the occasional cigar with friends now.

I am comfortable with my :ghey: in cigar selection. I tend to lean more to the darker smoke, but Kuba Kuba lights my fire BABEE!

I agree with you on the torches, they rarely work well. Of course, I have not bought an expensive one though. I spent some time with the guy who ran the one on Jefferson in Baton Rouge, Churchill's maybe? He claimed, and I may have read this as well, that a common lighter like the bic had a dirty flame that contaminated the smoke with the taste of fuel. Regular wooden matches work well,as do the torches. Me, its mostly whatever I can get to the quickest, and it is usually a bic by the bbq pit :dunno:
