I have my first can a SWR 22, now looking for opinions on using a 338 for both a 308 and the 338. My experience is limited and would like recommendations from others. Love this forum.

    Thanks,:)

The TiTan is pretty impressive. AAC may have some issues with the way they run their business, but you cannot discount their great products. Element, Ti-Rants, M42K, etc.

If the can is made for the .338 and is quiet enuff on it, you should love it on a .308. if you want to hear one of mine on your rifles, PM me and we can get together.

Most available .338 cans are intended for the .338 Lapua, etc. I think if you put one of those on an AR10 it would be way overkill and overheavy. Don't think you'd be happy with the balance and size. You may want to consider a .308 sized can, bored out to .338. One of the custom makers mentioned should be able to help you. May even want to look at a titanium can.

Uhmmm, bored 308 titanium sounds really good. This will fit both the AR-10 and a Kimber Montana in 338 Federal. Sounds like a plan is coming together. Who would build this and how much?
    Thanks:cool:

Jennings made you an offer. Take him up on it seriously. You will not be disappointed. Dont get in a hurry

I also would do it in a SS body. SS blast baffle. Not many times do you get to test drive something like this first. You wont be disappointed
Dont believe the bs about "home built cans" thats far from what these are. And one of us has been doing it for 10yrs.

Thanks, PMed to make contact. I have no sub sonic for either caliber and would like to keep stock barrels for cost. 338 federal is a necked up 308. any body have recommended loads for loading sub sonic for these calibers?

    :)
