    stumbled upon dis great site about a week ago! lots of cool & useful info. been around guns my whole from the huntin' aspect, never gave 'em much thought beyond that. bought a few pistols within' the last year and with each purchase, my interest increased. took on an ar-15 build this month and now i'm totally hooked!

    considering that this was my 1st go round & for the most part, i went at it blind, the build went great. my main goal was to build a better rifle for less than the average retail price and get educated on the basic AR platform. i had about a month into the build and came out under the 1k mark (excluding ammo & extra mags, of course!). cycled close to 300 rounds so far and i'm lovin' it. already planning a AR-10 for my dad to double as a hunting rifle. here's a list of the components:

    DPMS Standard Carbine Upper w/ light barrel
    *exchanged the bolt assy & carrier group for Spike's Tactical MP tested, chrome assy.
    * BCM Gunfighter Mod 4 charging handle
    * Spike's low profile gas block
    * Midwest Industries 2pc drop-in quad rail
    * Magul rail guards (R & L rails)
    * Magpul flip up, back up sights front & rear
    * Mako handle
    RRA Lower Assy.
    * RRA trigger job w/ 3# pull
    * RRA 6 position stock
    * Hogue overmolded hand grip
    * Magpul trigger guard
    * Spike's engraved dust cover "Molon Labe"
