I'm currently a fourth year medical student in Shreveport, but we just found out that I'll be doing my residency in New Orleans. I need at least a 2 bedroom place that is pet friendly (because I'm not crazy about small dogs). If anyone knows somebody who has a place to rent, or a decent place for sale in a decent part of town, please let me know. We start in July, so everything's sort of hectic right now. Thanks fellas.

I love New Orleans, but there are some bad places in New Orleans to live. Make sure you check it out at night and check out the nearest supermarket (sit in the car for 20 or 30 minutes and see who is coming and going after 5). If you would send your wife/girl friend there then it is probably one of the nicer areas.

PM sent - definitely need to check the places out before you come you could be next to a mansion and a drug house, which will conveniently not show on craigslist so pictures aren't adequate

That's a very clever method,,,,checking out the grocery stores,,,,I like that. I'd add that for some areas,,,maybe the closest drug store would also be a good idea,,,simply because some neighborhoods are not well served by a nearby grocery. The University/Riverbend is like that. We don't have a close grocery,,,but the Walgreens/Rite Aid would do.
