Thanks chopit! Great deal with a great guy.

Looking to play around with a new chambering and like what I see in the .44 Special. Seems like the Charter Arms Bulldog Pug is a good format; tough, light, and trigger isn't so bad.

If you have something like this you would like to move, let me know.

    Thanks.

    My S&W 2" 60-9 shooting .357s is more than I care to handle. I use +P.

I have an early lightweight .357 and it is worse.

I shot my 7" 657 for my CHP renewal over the weekend and I can imagine was a snubby .44mag would be like and it's not what I would want to handle.

It seems to me people who carry those snubbies do so in bear country. I may be wrong.

This. I couldn't see ever being up for putting more than a 5 rounds through the thing. My 442 with .38+p seems bad enough!

I shot a buddies Taurus .44 special snubbie, and it was no worse than a .357 out of the same length barrel.

44spl kicks no worse than 45lc. When you start getting into magnum power out of a 2"bbl is when you start worrying about excessive felt recoil. 44spl? No problem at all. 44mag? Different story completely.

Yeah 44spl is fine and not bad to shoot. My 44mag ruger super redhawk alaskan is a different story... Still fun to shoot. The Charter snubbies in 44spl generally got decent reveiws, I had looked at buying one and did alot of research before I got the alaskan in a local sale.

Puglias in Metairie has a standard blue Bulldog brand new for $375. Might be able to talk them down...maybe. Anyway, they are so inexpensive that you won't be hard pressed to find one under $400 pretty much anywhere. Eventually,I'm going to get one soon.

Thanks for the replies. Glad it could stir up a discussion. I really don't find the 2.5" barrel a bad platform for the .44 special. Chopit- Got your pm, be in touch shortly.
