Hey maybe ya'll know the answer to this question my boss asked me today...

During the primitive hunt season why is it legal to use any crack barrel gun with an exposed hammer over 30 cal., but not a single or double barrel 12 ga. shotgun with the same configuration?

    I told him I would ask ya'll.

It has to be over .38 caliber, have an exposed hammer, and be of a design prior to 1900, but I have wondered the same thing, since a 12 gauge slug out of an NEF or H&R single shot is essentially a .729 rifle??
