Today I picked up a Mini-14 with Bushnell scope, approx 10 alum mags, and over 1200 rounds of .223 for $700. Good price or not?

Thats an excellent price with all of the extras. We need pictures so we can drool over it. :)

Well here are the pictures!! Did as well as I could with these with my iphone. Haven't had a chance to clean it up yet; it's been sitting in a safe for a while.

I also took a new model Blackhawk Ruger 357 magnum and a Remington 870 with a slug barrell as collateral.

The Mini 14 get's a bad rap on most gun forums , but that's just because it's not an AR . You can't load it down with all of the useless tacti-cool crap and that's probably a good thing . I had one years ago and I liked it . You made a helluva deal . Enjoy .

Guys, thank you all for the nice comments. I'm glad I did that deal. The tomahawk started out as a small axe from Harbor Freight $24.00. I did a lot of grinding and cutting with Dremel tool to take a lot of the weight off of it. It was a Helico axe made in Germany but I think it may come out of China now. Steel is still pretty hard.

    You did good.

That looks to be one of the older ones though. Did someone drill and tap the receiver for the scope mounts? It doesn't look like it has the Ruger scope mount spots.... I think all the newer minis have the "Ranch Rifle" mounting spots.

Look at the 3rd pic. The mount is a B-Square mount. The large knob is unscrewed and the mount and scope come off. The scope is a Bushnell 3-9. Good scope but not a high dollar one.

I saw that, but I couldn't tell if it had the integral Ruger Mounts that all Ranch Rifles have. It looks like it doesn't which makes me think it's one of the older ones.
