Just posting up to see who all would be interested in meeting up for breakfast before the birthday bash. I've had quite a few people PM'ing and texting about meeting up and caravaning to the location due to being unfamiliar with the area. Being that it would help to arrive at the meeting spot by 8:30am we can meet for breakfast around 6am saturday morning. That should give us plenty of time to fill up, hydrate, check everyone's loadout to make sure they're prepared, and then roll out to the location. It'll also help us take some time to meet each other without ear protection on.

    This is MY plan.

0600 - Meet at IHOP on College Dr. in Baton Rouge (Wal-mart and Albertson's is right there for last minute things, also several banks for last minute cash)

0715 - Start heading out to the meet spot

0830 - Arrive at the "Top Secret Location" to have ID's and invites checked and verified

0900 - Start breaking up into escorted groups out to the actual site of the BASH

I'm doing this regardless of anyone else joining me, but figured it would be nice, especially for the first timers and out of towners. I picked this location, because it's pretty hard to get lost from here to the top secret meeting place, and far enough for stragglers to catch up

If you have any questions or concerns, either PM me, or just post it up. If you're worried or confused about something, odds are that other people are too, so let's share the info as much as possible. If anyone needs to get ahold of me directly call/text 225-614-7926 During the weekdays, text is the best way to get ahold of me, but I do listen to voicemails and return calls.

In case you can't read the text in the pic, park in the circled area. It'll make things easier when we start to caravan out of the parking lot.

    Basic provisions list;
    Sunscreen!!!!
    Water
    ice
    trash bag
shade <-- plan to group up since there isn't room for 100 tents and ez-ups
    water
    ice
shooting gloves of some kind (I like "Mechanics" gloves) <--- if it's half as hot as it was last year, you may possibly burn your hands on that black P7 that I set on the table for 5 minutes like I did
    water
    ice
    chairs
    water
    ice
    snacks
    water
    ice
ammo, lots and lots of ammo
    water
    ice
    baby wipes
    towels
    Good attitude

It was super hot last year, and leaving to run to the store really isn't a great idea since it would be almost 45 minutes round trip. I can't recall the name of the grocery store offhand, but the owner was VERY nice last year. We loaded up on little extras that we forgot while we were waiting to finish corraling everyone out of the parking lot.

Try to load everything you'll need before heading out there as the store just isn't large enough to accomodate the massive horde trying to load up, but they'll have plenty of the stuff you forgot to bring. Water is crucial, I can't stress it enough.

Having a hat that provides true shade is a very good idea. You can wear shorts, but I don't recommend flipflops or anything like that. You want closed toed shoes when the casings start hitting you. I wore shorts last year and my calves were on fire from the sunburn, so I'll probably wear some long pants that are very light. Do not wear a shirt that you really like. The guns are going almost non-stop and the guys are using VERY liberal amounts of lube to keep them going, and that stuff WILL get all over your shirt. It will also get all over your arms, hands and face, so bringing some babywipes will help you stay clean and not allow the gun oil to help increase the rate of sunburn. It'll also keep you from using your drinking water to clean up all the time.

Mark all of the magazines that you bring. Make sure your markings are unique and obvious. SHARPIE IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO MARK WITH IT COMES OFF WHEN EXPOSED TO LUBRICANTS

If you plan to buy ammo, bring cash. The ammo count is rediculous, and the prices will be very good.

Sounds good to us... we'll see you there!
    Bringing:
    12x12 canopy
    folding chairs
    small folding table
    generator
    fans
bottle of vanilla extract (no-see-um protection)
    PLENTY of H2O/drinks
    and ummm...ammo. lots of ammo

We may need use of someone's ATV to help shuttle gear to the shooting area, depending on parking.

I'm driving from Lafayette and have one passenger, so far and I'm bringing along a Polaris Ranger if I need to. I'm not sure of
the parking situation at the site so I thought it wouldn't hurt to throw an ice chest in the ranger with water and soft drinks, also help anyone else haul gear if need be. I've got room for 2 more comfortably or 3 in the back seat. If anyone wants to ride along with me let me know. I got the gas covered so its a free ride, although I plan to stay for the duration of the shoot. I should also mention that me and the other guy are smokers, I didn't want to leave that out in case someone wants to ride and doesn't want to ride with someone who smokes. Back to bringing the ranger, if it's not a good idea go ahead and say so, but I have asked for permission from the host. I would like to meet up with you guys at IHOP, if thats cool? It would be nice to meet a few fellow members before we got there, this is the first time I've gone to something like this. The truck is an '11 F-150 EB.
I'm assuming the invitations will be emailed or does anyone know if I need to keep an eye out for it in the mailbox at the road?

EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO ATTEND THE BREAKFAST THAT IS GOING TO THE BASH!!!! I just would like to have a good idea of how many people are going to be there

You're more than welcome, bringing the side x side shouldn't be an issue, I'll be bringing a 4-wheeler myself. If a lot of people show up with 4 wheelers and such, don't be suprised if you have to put it near the truck for the duration of the shoot once you've hauled all your gear to the site from the parking area. The last thing we need with all that gunfire and people wearing ear pro is someone getting run over.

I hope so, my brother and I were discussing bringing all that stuff the other day.

It looks we'll have 1 if not 2 4wheelers for hauling stuff to the "range," and wilkinsonrww will be bringing his Ranger as well. We'll also have a few ice chest full of water and sports drinks. We're planning to avoid caffeine for the day, and get as little pointless sun exposure as possible.

I'm gonna cut and paste my "provisions list" from the other thread in here. Hopefully we'll have a lot of first timers come out. I don't think most people, even in the gun enthusiast world get a chance to play with this kind of stuff in an environment like this.
