A warning for you young guys!!!

Psychologist Philip Zimbardo claims that today's young men are destined for failure because of porn and video games.
In his controversial book The Demise of Guys: Why Boys Are Struggling And What We Can Do About It, Zimbardo and co-author Nikita Duncan outline why he thinks men are failing in education and personal relationships.
He suggests parents limit or cut off access to computers and video games to get their sons on the right track.
    Some highlights from the book:
-Females currently outperform males at every level, from grade school to graduate school. Boys are 30 percent more likely than girls to drop out of high school and college, according to the National Center of Education Statistics.
-In 2011, young men's SAT scores were the worst they had been in 40 years.
-Even Hollywood has caught on: films like Failure to Launch, Knocked Up and Jackass mock the ineptitude of this generation.
-Boys account for 70 percent of D's and F's given at school.
-Research shows guys aren't interested in being husbands, fathers or the head of the household.

-Boys are four to five times more likely than girls to have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, according to the National Center for Education Statistics. Two-thirds of students in special education programs are guys.
-The average boy spends 13 hours a week playing video games. The average girl spends 5. The average young American will spend 10,000 hours playing video games by age 21. That's twice the time it takes to earn a bachelor's degree.
-The average high school boy spends two hours watching porn every week. Men can't escape porn: 13,500 full-length commercial porn films were released in 2011, compared with 600 Hollywood films.
-Researchers claim that internet pornography is hurting young boys' ability to form meaningful romantic relationships because they objectify their partner.
-It's predicted that 60 percent of bachelor's degrees will go to women by 2016.
-63 percent of men surveyed said they had a lack of motivation because of mixed messages from the media and society on their role.
-70 percent of young men surveyed said their generation wouldn't be as smart or innovative as their peers in other First World countries.

my problem in high school was that i already knew 70% of the stuff they taught i would never need, so i didn't apply myself... this day, making six figures, i only really needed 30%, most of which came from social studies, PE, and a small amount of math courses...

what would happen if people were taught that they didn't automatically get an education? not just college, but high school too... remove the Federal agenda, let the residents of each state decide how much to tax themselves, then if states don't want to carry the full burden, let parishes and counties tax and create local competition amoung the schools...

My personal opinion of porn isn't good. It is not healthy for a marriage in my opinion. As fathers we need to understand that's some's daughter/grand daughter with her legs spread, sucking, taking it up the etc. As a grandfather I will do everything in my power to see my grand daughter respects herself enough not to stoop to this depravity.

I think it all comes down to parenting. My 9 year old only plays video games on the weekend. He's a straight A student in a very tough private school. Parents these days are too worried about themselves and not helping there kids make it thru life. I work two jobs and still make time for my family.

I totally agree. Many parents think only of themselves. I am so proud of our son and daughter in law. Their primary concern is their daughter. She comes first.

    More bandwidth for me, Bruh.

+1. The wussification of boys and men is the real problem. Porn and games are by no means a problem, SELF DISCIPLINE is. I play games and hell yes I'll cruise a bit of Internet porn (as long as its free), and I work And have a 3.5 @SELU.
If a young man can't put down the mouse and his c*ck long enough to get his sh*t done the problem goes way deeper than the material available to him.

Porn and video games are just things to do. No different than watching TV (which these days is basically just porn without the money shot), sitting around pounding beers, etc. You can do it, or not. And you can definitely overdo it. I'd hardly blame them exclusively for anything though.

And for once, I agree with returningliberty.

As far as feeling bad for the women in porn...you do realize most of them ENJOY it right? It's not exactly forced labor.
