Do you really think that is what should happen to someone who wiped out six people? Several families destroyed. Multiple prior DUI arrests.

Splitting skin from ass for DUI is absolutely justified. For a DUI that results in a death it should be a capital offense, IMO.

Thanks for clearing that up, Charlie12. I have been laboring under a misconception.
I wonder, now, if he could be charged with something criminal that doesn't depend on him being under the influence?
Not certain. Mom never talks too much about it even today. It was 1968, the family was affluent, things were different back then, my dad raced sunbeams and was driving one of his street legal versions that night (one of the cops made a comment to my mom like that was the cause of his death). Maybe just because no one pursued it. We never heard even an apology from the driver or his folks.
