What is yours and does this potentially set up a bidding type/ auction scenario?
I would like to know your thoughts on this

I always thought it meant that the seller was willing to take a reasonable offer if their item didn't sell at their desired price.

I always thought it meand Or Best Offer. What puzzles me is that if you are selling something for $800 OBO, does that mean you will take a dollar and a quarter if that is the best offer?

I've never heard of "Or Better Offer". I've always though of O.B.O. as Or Best Offer.

As in if I had an item worth $200 and I'm asking $150 O.B.O., then I'm asking a price of $150 but I'm willing to sell for the best offer. Usually O.B.O. is used when the seller must sell the item. Sort of like a No Reserve auction.

I'll try to explain it here:

Billy Bob has an El Camino he posts on Craigslist for $2500 OBO.

Nobody seems to be willing to pay the asking price but he does get an offer for $2000, and since its looks like the best hes going to do, he decides to sell it for $2000.

    THAT friends, is OBO.

The only twist I could see putting on that is if Billy Bob waited until he got 3 offers of $1900, $2000 and $2100 then decided to take the $2100 because it was the "Best Offer".

OBO is and always will be "Or best offer." No one lists (I hope) something for $xxxx but puts OBO in the chance someone is willing to pay more than what they just said they would take.

That venn diagram makes no sense

How is something both lower and higher than the asking price at the same time?

    Example 2:

Billy Bob has an El Camino he posts on Craigslist for $2500 OBO.

Cletus responds to Billy Bob's ad and says he'll take the El Camino for $2500.

Before Cletus arrives with the money, Earl also responds to the ad.

Billy Bob advises Earl that Cletus has already agreed to pay $2500 for the El Camino. Earl says he's willing to pay $2700 for the El Camino.

Billy Bob calls Cletus and says he has had an offer of $2700 for the El Camino. Cletus tells Billy Bob that he has already agreed to sell him the El Camino for $2500

Billy Bob says the deal is off and he's going to sell the El Camino to Earl for $2700. Cletus calls Billy Bob a no good bastard and hangs up.

Earl doesn't show up with the $2700 and now, Billy Bob has pissed off Cletus who no longer wants to deal with Billy Bob.

See how this works, friends? Don't be a Billy Bob.

There is several degrees of error laterally along an asymptote running vertically at the circles' intersections. Run it through Matlab. Think Schrodinger's Cat. Check the box. Influence the measurement yourself. All will be clear.
