I been kinda up in the air about getting me some exhaust for my F150 Limited 5.4L, I have Flowmasters on another truck of mine and I like the sound of them. I know for sure I want the turn downs(dumped) but not sure on the series as of now I'm leaning towards the 40 only because I think that the 50 series will sound almost like stock. Now I heard that the 40 series have a lot of drone(cab noise) which won't bother me as long it's not so loud in the cab I can't hear myself think. Let me know if any of ya'll are running a 40 or 50 series and how you like them.

If you decide to stick with Flowmaster I've got a pair with turndowns already welded on them. They've got 1,800 miles on them, just like new, Series 44, 3" inlet & outlet. They have a nice deep tone. I'm not sure of the exact length of mine (I can measure if you're interested). They're $70 each at Summit + shipping, you can have mine for $100. PM me if you're interested.

Yea I was looking for some noise but I like the turn downs just for that low rumble that you get coming from under the truck. On my chevy the flows sound good but I just don't want my Ford as lound just something with a clean deep sound and not just noise.

I had a noise-polluting Flowmaster on a truck that the previous owner installed. Granted, I don't get the whole loud muffler thing, so I replaced with a Dynomax Super Turbo. It cut out a massive amount of cabin noise. I would think again about cabin noise. It drove me insane after a while.

Yea I can take it some what but I don't want the inside of my cab to sound like that outside and I hear that the Flow 40 series has a good bit of cab noise.

    MAG-NA-FLOW!!! Nuff said.
    This...
get the Magnaflow cat(s), while you're at it.
Might as well get the performance out it if, while you're at it.
Cabin noise went up slightly from stock, in my Dakota, when on accel, but not a problem at cruise.
Overall, the sound is nice. Deep, and not obtrusively annoying to everyone around you.
The cat swap, was the single, most noticeable, seat of the pants feel, performance increase.

Yea I'm not set on the Flows but why do all of ya'll saw MagnaFlow?

Because they are made of better material.
Because they free up some exhaust flow instead of clogging it.
Because they aren't just "loud...loud...loud". They have tone that varies with rpm, and at cruise, they don't drone. They are nice and quiet on the highway.
Because they are associated with people that have class more often than flowmasters (personal connotation, there, I dunno if anyone else thinks this way, but I think of Flowmaster like I do Vulcan Arms).

Not a Ford, but you get the idea.
Mine's a bit more noticeable with the magnaflow cat in place, compared to the cat back, below.

Sounds like Bub Rubb and Lil Sis talking bout "the flows"..... Dumped under the truck is for teenagers and democrats. They can't think anyway so the noise won't disturb them.
