Seems all you need to be famous these days is a computer and an internet connection. The sad thing is, sites such as this one connect us, but we hardly ever communicate anymore. "Text me; don't call unless it's an emergency."

Social interaction is literally defined by the web, if you can't find it with Google, look on your Facebook wall, reddit it, share it, like it, then it is irrelevant. What a sad dichotomy: information spreads at breakneck speed; even before it happens, chances are someone on the Internet has posted it, but most cannot even go check neighbor because, on Facebook, he posted about something happening in his life something major, like an illness, or a death in the family. The upcoming generations are literally growing up with exposure to a world where revolutions no longer need plata y plomo to begin, and entire companies exist only on a few server racks.

Just a lament of a man tired of this world, and ready for it to be over with.

The average American is ignorant. He knows not his rights, as the schools do not teach the Constitution- he's fortunate to get even the condensed version of the Bill of Rights from a liberal or convervative that harken so hardly to their party lines that even they utterly fail to comprehend the Constitution; it's too boring, and hard to understand, and you don't need to know it they say; Federalist papers, Declaration of Independence, Anti-federalist papers, or the Articles of Confederation. He cares little about his fellow man. He is duped, swindled, Shanghaied, cheated, deceived. He is paunch with iPhone in one hand, Mickey D's in the other. His president is black, and a US citizen, the first ever, and the first to say that the United States of America is not a Christian nation. His government makes five thousand of its citizens vanish without a singular trace. Fourth Amendment gone, the so-called PATRIOT ACT has rebuked the Fourth under the veiled guise of "national security", better read globalism and expanded federal powers, and secret portions of bills giving intelligence agencies unprecedented power.

To lean on the Christian values which are the hearth and cornerstone is abhorrent, and archane. Yet, the homosexual gets whatever he wants, blacks have a soapbox under every step, and you don't have to work, the rest of the nation will pay for you, and the Muslims are able to have their abusive, disgusting food laws inserted in our food surreptitiously. The people of this nation mock and spite the homeless veteran, but that veteran did not fight a war on the basis of what is right, he fought it under the guise without a Congressional declaration of war of a "War on Terror". That's just a small sample of our rights which erode away like Louisiana coastline.

We laud an abusive coke addict and give him a show worth millions, yet allow our vets to have sub-standard care in the VA. Our President, if he can even be called that, is attempting to destroy this nation from within, just as forecasted by the likes of Thomas Jefferson and company. We live for "reality television", but the reality is the divorce rate is at half, fifty to sixty millions of lives snuffed out because of abortions, the pedophiles likely and desperately trying to get social acceptance, more drugs and alcohol than ever before ruining families as parent and child alike turn to them to medicate their woes.

What have we as a nation and people become?

This is taken from the new HBO show.."The Newsroom" but is similar to what you are saying and is the truth...sad truth.

Not to hijack, and not that it was HIS real words but he contradicts himself in that video clip like I've seen a lot of Liberals do when they attempt to condemn morality in one sentence, and then declare if we had more morality like we used to we'd be better off. This is/was also a constant on the infamous RRS Forum. The instantaneous condemnation and praising of Morality, and where it came from, is mind blowing for sure, but not incapable of understanding. For it is written …

Yes, there is an irony that this is on an Internet board. No, I had not a clue about the HBO show.
However, this is here for a reason for all to see: on Google, and those of you reading it.

    All verklempt. Discuss.

Well spoken lament. I think it is an excellent description of the way mankind has always been. It must be that within man's DNA resides the laziness and apathy codes among many others.

This current civilization will soon come to pass as many have before it.

The sad part is that it appears events that will occur in 2012-2013 will be man's last gasp.
