We are within the 72 hour period where models really start to lock in. So far many major models has the storm hitting somewhere around the mouth of the Mississippi. Intensity could possibly be up to Cat 3. Expect the NHC to move the cone in our direction.

Start making the necessary preparations. Could have a possible major hurricane in our area in 72 hours.

Most of the models I am looking have it between Ft. Walton and Panama city, sure hope they are right. I don't mean to wish ill on anyone but our rice crop would be devistated by a direct of indirect hit.

Great. I'm in Navarre right now and they've been boarding stuff up here all day. Figures it will shift toward home since we're headed back Tomorrow.

All the models here at work show the same thing.

I don't have any trees or flooding issues so I actually enjoy hurricanes. *dodges rice farmer fury*

Besides, I'll get to collect all sorts of badass data. Dialup, run away:

And the resolution is only grainy because it's a GIF. The regular renders are high definition :D

I filled up water and gas cans yesterday and will be making the obligatory wally world run tomorrow morning. Suburbazine, those maps are gorgeous. Moar?

It's generally updated whenever I happen to catch a storm system in action.

When Isaac makes landfall I will have 3D renders of a hurricane like you've never seen one before (possibly, there have been a few similar renders done for TV purposes)

GFS has this thing going right up the mouth. then skirt along the coast for 30 hours in to SW LA. Do not be fooled by the cone, it is headed our way.

That is the one that I am saying scares me. From my understanding it wont lose much strength while it is still over the coast. Then once it hits about Lake Charles it will make a right hand turn and head North.

I got called in to the job early today. I thought I'd have one more day before things went crazy.
