Last Three Isaac models don't look good.

In Dr. Jeff Masters' blog, he says that he expects the storm surge from Isaac to be 30% larger than normal, due to the size of the storm. Tropical storm force winds extend out 205 miles from the storm's center on the NE side.

Also, depending on how slow the storm moves once near/on shore, it may produce a total surge event greater than that of Gustav.

Water level at Shell Beach was already up by 1' as of this morning.

Fairly quiet here in Laplace. Passed by Wal Mart and it doesnt even look too bad. Almost stopped by home depot to get some wood to build a reloading bench but decided that can wait for now.

The GFS model most closely reflects my track predictions at the moment, however, at landfall the hurricane will begin turning north.

Gotta go back into work tomorrow. Supposed to be a voluntary day. I imagine we'll be moving trucks into the building and getting out by lunch time. It'll probably already be getting nasty by then.

Yeah…. My husband's boss is concerned we may lose one or two. Everybody who has weathered Katrina, Rita and Gustav at the facility is looking at the poor guy. He's having panic attacks.

At this point Spec and I are both giggling because he means well but something is about to be out of his control and that apparently drives him batshit crazy. LOL

Just got a call. Wife's surgery checkup moved from Wednesday to tomorrow afternoon. Man I didn't wanna drive to BR that near weather getting a little breezy. People gonna be driving like its Armageddon.

That doesn't make sense? I'm assuming the eye is the actual hurricane graphic? That means half of it would be on land before it bumps to a 2.

Maybe I'm off base?
